The Student Orientation is for 7th Grade Students that are NEW to JHS 157 and for 7th Grade Students that were Full Remote (Cohort D) Last Year as 6th Graders!
Good afternoon,
We are excited to welcome our NEW 7th grade students and former 6th grade full remote (cohort D) students to in-person learning at JHS 157! I would like to invite you to our new student orientation on Thursday, Sept 09 at 10AM. The orientation is not mandatory but is being offered to provide students with school familiarity prior to our first day of class on September 13, 2021. Participating students are reminded to wear a mask and to complete the daily health screener on September 09th found here: https://healthscreening.schools.nyc/
Location: Beginning at 9:30AM, students will line up, socially distanced by 3 feet, at our 7th grade school entrance on the sidewalk between 102 street and Yellowstone BLVD on 63 drive. We will begin to health screen students at 9:30AM; after doing so, students will enter our school building and report to the school auditorium (parents/guardians will not be joining students inside the building during the orientation).
10:00AM-11:00AM: Students will participate in our orientation including a tour of the school building. After the orientation, all students will be dismissed from the main entrance located at the front of the school building (102 street and 63 Drive). If students have permission to walk home, they may do so at that time. If parents/guardians/family members are picking students up after the orientation, they may do so from the main entrance at 11:00AM.
Please feel free to email me if you have any questions.
Sincerely,
Vincent Suraci
Principal JHS 157
