Chorus – Select Chorus

Select Chorus is an advanced, auditioned singing ensemble. Any grade student participating in any talent is welcome to audition each September. We perform during numerous school events, NYSSMA (New York State School Music Association), community events, and during Halsey’s chorus concerts. Experienced select chorus students also participate in MEANYC (Music Educators of New York City) All-County each February. We meet on Thursdays from 2:20-3:30 from September-January. Once test prep begins in February, we meet on Fridays from 2:20-3:30.

The Halsey JHS Mouse Squad

One of our extended day programs is The Mouse Squad which is affiliated with Mouse. Mouse is a youth development program that promotes technology support by teaching children how work together and collaborate on technology projects and competitions. Mouse Squad also offers various competitions throughout the school year in which children are encouraged to participate with their Mouse Squad coordinator/advisor, Ms. Elfers. Meets Tuesdays from 2:30-3:30 PM

Halsey Bulldog Robotics Team

Meets on Mondays from 2:30 PM until 4:45PM PM. Our Robotics team is affiliated with First Tech Challenge and will be competing this year. We form our team in the Spring for the following school year.  All 6th graders are invited to apply at the end of March, beginning of April.  Stay tuned for more information. Halsey Green Team

The Halsey Green Team is a group of students that are working on the Halsey Beyond Beautification Project.  Students plant and maintain garden areas around the school.  We also have a green house that they are working on.  Interested students can contact Mr. Weiss at cweiss6@schools.nyc.gov for more information.
