Where did you go to school?

I still haven’t left school! I graduated from SUNY Purchase college with a degree in psychology and history. I have a Master’s in Social Work from CUNY Hunter College and I am graduating this May with a Master’s in Education from LIU- Brooklyn. I also was really lucky and studied history at University of Stirling in Scotland for six months.

How long have you been at Halsey?

I started working at Halsey at the beginning of the 2019-2020 school year. This is my second year here 🙂

What would you be doing if you were not a teacher?

If I wasn’t a teacher, I would still be a social worker.

Why did you get into education?

I come from a family of educators and my way of trying to be different and express my individuality was to become a social worker. As much as I love social work, I quickly realized after mostly practicing social work in schools, that teaching is what I am passionate about. My parents were very happy about this decision.

What is your favorite thing about being a teacher?

My favorite thing about being a teacher is getting to know my students.

Any hobbies or interests that we do not know you would like to share?

I love to hike with my dog, paddle board, travel and learn about the places I visit. Catch me in Alaska salmon fishing this summer!
