NYS Grades 3–8 ELA/Math Exam Administration Updates

Student Participation Guides:

Dear Parents,

On Tuesday and Wednesday, March 29th and 30th, students in Grades 6-8 will be taking the New York State English Language Arts Examination. On Tuesday and Wednesday, April 26th and 27th, students in Grades 6-8 will be taking the New York State Mathematics Examination. These exams will be administered in homeroom classrooms and other sites within the building, dependent on individual student testing accommodations. Last year, due to COVID-19 restrictions, those families who wanted their children to take these exams, needed to opt-in and register to sit for the tests. This year, we return to the annual protocol of all Grade 6-8 students taking the tests unless parents advise school administration otherwise.

Please encourage students to arrive to school on time, well-rested and with two sharpened #2 pencils. Cell phones will be secured by homeroom teachers prior to commencement of the exams and returned at the end of the day. The regular lunch period schedule will remain in place and instruction will resume in the afternoon.

If you have any questions or require further clarification, please do not hesitate to call the school.
