Information for incoming 6th graders

Incoming student orientation is on Wednesday September 6th from 12:30-1:30 at Halsey.

Busing is provided to some students if they meet the criteria set forth by the Office of Pupil Transportation (OPT). You can find out if your child has been assigned a bus route by logging into their NYC Students Account. If you have further questions, you should contact OPT (718-392-8855).

Halsey Clubs and activities are announced throughout the school year to students. Generally, each club/activity meets once or twice a week and have online registrations.  If you are looking for an everyday after-school program, the only option is Queens Community House. Forms will be available to families the first week of school.

The list of supplies on our site www.halsey157.org  provides basic guidelines as to what is needed . In middle school, students have different teachers for each subject, so there is no standard for things like composition books or folder colors across classes. If you want to wait until the school year starts, teachers will let their students know more specifically what is needed.
