Hello Graduating 8th Grade Students!

June 26, 2020, marks you official graduation from Stephen A. Halsey JHS 157! Congratulations to all of you! Your parents/guardians and teachers are very proud of all you have accomplished during your time at Halsey 157.

As we look back on your last year, it is inevitable we reflect on the obvious upheavals created by the pandemic and it’s effect on so many families in our community. Your resilience and perseverance remains strong as you continue to meet and over come these challenges. Yet we also reflect on what we’ve learned about ourselves, the importance of the well being of people around us and about life itself.

There are so many more reasons to remember the 2019-2020 school year. We came together and accomplished something that has never been done before! In addition, you faced and overcame challenges, whether academic or social emotional; you made memories that will last a life time, created friendships with peers and developed special bonds with teachers.

Life is challenging and unpredictable. You have learned strong coping skills to not only survive but also to thrive! I am very proud of all of you! You each have a strong future that is built upon your good work of the past and your proven readiness of the present.

I want to thank all of our parents and guardians for your trust in us and for all of your support-this year, more than ever! We thank you for your patience, understanding, and teamwork. As we look ahead to better times, we are grateful to have had the opportunity to watch your children grow and shine. Know that we will always be invested in your child’s future success and we are always just a phone call or an email away.

Halsey JHS 157 is a very special place and it has been an honor to be on this journey with all of you. Congratulations to the Class of 2020. All of us wish you the best as you embark upon new and exciting challenges in high school, college, work, and beyond!
