2021 – 2022 Volleyball

Hello Halsey Families,

I am Coach Kagen, and have started the Volleyball Club at Halsey. The last couple years (Pre-Covid) we have had a Volleyball TEAM that played in a season long tournament against other schools.  With the state of the world as it is now, there is NO volleyball season this school year (enter SAD face here).

 As most of you know, there was a sign up period at school for the students who wanted to join the new volleyball club.  The overwhelming participation has made this club difficult to manage.  Close to 300+ students from grades 6 – 9 have signed up.

So moving forward for December & January, I believe the best plan will be the following.

Volleyball Club Dates:

Grade 6 : Tuesday December7th and Thursday December 16^th  (2:30 – 4:30)

Grade 7 : Thursday December 9^th and Tuesday December 21^st        (2:30 – 4:30)

Grades 8 & 9 : Tuesday December 14^th and WEDNESDAY Dec 22^nd (2:30 – 4:30)

(JANUARY DATES TBA)

Only the students who have signed up for the club prior will be able to participate. Again, because of the large number of students, it would be unproductive to have any more students join now.

Attendance will be taken at each session. Please have a plan for your child as there will be a 4:30 dismissal from the FRONT ENTRANCE of the school.

All behavior rules and disciplines are the same as in school. Any misbehavior will be an automatic release from the club

FEBRUARY: After 2 months of the V-Ball Club (game play), I will then hold VOLLEYBALL TEAM tryouts for each grade.  The try outs will be open for anybody, even if they are not part of the Club currently.

VOLLEYBALL TEAM “TRY OUTS” WILL BE HELD

6^th GRADE VOLLEYBALL TEAM

7^th GRADE VOLLEYBALL TEAM

8^th GRADE VOLELYBALL TEAM

(20 PLAYERS PER TEAM)

The try-outs and then teams by grade will concentrate on a more skill based and team strategy concepts.
