The St. Jude Math-A-Thon is a school-based fundraiser that benefits St. Jude children’s Research Hospital. St. Jude treats and defeats childhood cancer and other life-threatening diseases. Parents of these children cannot afford to pay for treatments. With the donations raised from St. Jude Math-A-Thon, families never receive a bill from St. Jude for treatment, travel, housing, or food.
Students will receive Math-A-Thon booklets in their math class (grades 6-9), as well as envelopes, which students will use to collect donations from family and friends. A prize order form will be distributed next week to all students. The official fundraiser start date is Friday, January 26th, and the last day of the fundraiser will be Tuesday, March 6th. The top student who raises the most money in each grade will be recognized, and a pizza party will be awarded to the homeroom class on each grade that raises the most money for St. Jude.
Students and parents may utilize the following link on their social media sites (e.g., Facebook), to help fundraise online. Online donations can be made and linked directly to JHS 157 using the link below:
Last year, JHS 157 was identified as #53 of the top 100 schools that have raised money for St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital. That’s amazing!
