Access for Young Women (AFYW) at Queens Community House

Access for Young Women (AFYW) is a program of Queens Community House aimed at promoting gender equity and leadership in girls ages 11-18. Groups meet once a week for two hours starting January and ending in late May and are held at our main site in Forest Hills. In addition to the leadership component, We are offering community service projects and STEM Career Panels.

AFYW is now in its 24th year of providing valuable leadership opportunities to young women residing in Queens. The program has demonstrated proven results in increasing participant’s self-esteem, academic performance, leadership skills, and knowledge of gender issues.

All AFYW programs are free! Participants can earn up to sixty hours of community service credit.

We currently have openings in the leadership program.

If you have any students that you would like to refer, please don’t hesitate to contact Sarah Faber, Leadership Coordinator, at 718-592-5757 ext. 221 or via email SFaber@qchnyc.org.
