Come sing on Saturdays! The Salute to Music Program is a free chorus that meets on Saturday mornings from 9:00 AM-11:50 AM at JHS 157. It is available for NYC DOE students in grades 4-8. No audition is needed for previous members (but they still need to register), new members need to audition. Please see the link below. You can also email Ms. Shikowitz at sshikowitz@schools.nyc.gov.
Select Chorus auditions will take place on Monday, October 2nd, from 2:20-3:30 in the chorus room, 112. Select Chorus is an advanced group of singers who perform during community events, school concerts, and at NYSSMA Majors. Select Chorus will take place weekly each Monday afternoon from 2:20-3:45 PM. Students in any talent and any grade can audition. Students do not need to prepare anything for the audition. The audition will consist of learning a song and singing it back in a small group. Students will be assessed on pitch/rhythmic accuracy, tone, ear training, and stage presence. If you have any questions, please contact Ms. Shikowitz at sshikowitz@Schools.nyc.gov.
